Islam places great emphasis on the dignity and respect of women, granting them rights that were revolutionary in the 7th century. The Quran acknowledges the inherent worth of women as equal partners in the spiritual, social, and economic spheres. While traditional roles may vary across cultures, the Quranic perspective on women focuses on their empowerment and equality before Allah.

In Quran 33:35, Allah says, "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women..." This verse makes it clear that both men and women have equal spiritual status in the sight of Allah, with their rewards based on their faith and actions, not their gender. The Quran grants women rights to education, inheritance, and independence, which were groundbreaking at the time of revelation.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also elevated the status of women in his teachings. He said, "The best of you are those who are the best to their women" (Tirmidhi). This emphasizes the importance of kindness, respect, and justice in relationships. Although cultural practices may sometimes contradict these teachings, Islam’s core message promotes the empowerment of women in all aspects of life.
