How we collect, use, and protect your information on fqonlinecourses.com and the FahmeQuran Android and iOS apps.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Fahm-e-Qur'an Institute, Akola, Maharashtra, India ("Fahme Quran", "we", "us") runs the website fqonlinecourses.com and the FahmeQuran mobile apps (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The website and apps share one account system, so this policy covers both.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address, and password when you register. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we never see or store your actual password. You may optionally add a phone number.
  • Google sign-in: if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Questions you ask: the text of your questions and, if you choose to record one, your voice recording. Voice recordings are stored privately and are only accessible to you and our teaching staff — unless your question is published publicly by our staff in anonymised form.
  • Payment records: for paid courses enrolled through the website, we keep the order amount, status, and any transfer reference you provide for offline (bank transfer) payments. We do not collect or store card or bank account numbers.

Information created as you use the Service

  • Learning activity: courses you enroll in, lessons you complete, where you paused a recording (so you can resume), exam attempts and scores, and certificates issued to you.
  • Sign-in sessions: when you sign in we record the session's IP address and device/browser type, to keep your account secure and let you stay signed in.
  • Notifications: in-app notifications we send you (for example, when your question is answered) and, if you allow push notifications in the app, a device push token used only to deliver them.

We do not use advertising, advertising identifiers, third-party analytics, or tracking pixels, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

2. Device permissions (mobile apps)

  • Microphone: requested only when you choose to record a voice question. Nothing is recorded unless you start a recording.
  • Notifications: requested so we can tell you about answers to your questions and course updates. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
  • Background audio: lets lessons keep playing when your screen is locked. It does not collect any data.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in on the website and apps.
  • To give you access to the courses you enroll in, track your progress, and issue certificates.
  • To answer your questions and notify you when they are answered.
  • To verify payments for paid courses and keep the financial records we are legally required to keep.
  • To send essential service messages, such as password-reset emails.
  • To protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and unauthorised access.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only what they need to do so:

  • our hosting provider (servers and database);
  • Cloudflare (secure file storage for images and voice recordings);
  • Google (only if you use Google sign-in);
  • our email-delivery provider (for password-reset and account emails);
  • Expo, Apple, and Google push services (only to deliver push notifications you have allowed);
  • YouTube, for lessons that are presented as an embedded YouTube video.

Lesson audio is streamed from our content delivery network. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, sign-in details, learning progress, exam attempts, certificates, questions (including voice recordings), and notifications. Records of payments are kept in anonymised form — no longer linked to your name or email — because we are required to keep financial records for accounting and legal purposes.

6. Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time: in the app under Profile → Delete account, or on the website from your profile page. You can also read the steps, or ask us to do it for you, on our account deletion page.

7. Your rights

You can view and update your name and phone number from your profile, and download your certificates at any time. You may ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent you have given, by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

8. Security

All connections to the Service are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, app sign-in sessions are stored in your device's secure keychain/keystore, and voice recordings are never publicly accessible. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of any breach as required by law.

9. Children

Our courses are suitable for learners of all ages. If you are under 18 (or the age of digital consent where you live), please use the Service with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, who may create and manage the account on your behalf.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and tell you in the Service if the changes are significant.
